Born Hull 1888. Son of John William Hogben and Maria Hogben, of 81, Dorset Street, Dairycoats, Hull (1911 Census). he was a Toy maker. his brothers Harold and Ernest Hogben also served in the war.
Married Etel Seaman, St andrews Church, Hull, on 24 Mar 1913. Enlisted on 11 Dec 1915. Served with the 33rd London Rifle Brigade. Discharged on 29 Oct 1918. Awared the Silver War Badge, (No: B39461) Died at Hull on 12/03/1931, aged 42. His army effects were left tohis widow, Ethel at 9, Fair View, Nornabell Street, Hull (War pension address).
