Born Whites Place, Marvel Street, Hull, 1891. Son of John O’Donoghue (1851-1910) and Hannah Siddle (1851-1903). He had three sisters and one brother and two half siblings.
He worked as an Oil Mill Labourer.
Married at Hull in 1911. Husband of Mary Ann Kay (1888-1973), of 9, Providence Place Cleveland Street, Hull (her parents address) (1911 Census) and 1, Richardsons Buildings, Sykes Street, Hull (War Pension address). He had three children, William, Robert and Grace.
Served with the East Yorkhire Regiment and King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. Discharged with Frontal sinusitus, 2nd to frontal necrosis, due to projectile injury plus cerebal absess. Wounded in WW1. Shrapnel in brain which led to tumour. Died of disability on 16 Feb 1920, aged 28.
