Born hailgate, Leeds, 1876. Son of William Hodgson and Mary Gardham. His brother Arthur lived at 37, Stanley Street, Hull (army records).
He married on 21 Feb 1903. Husband of Frances Corlyon, at 211, Waterloo Street, Hull (army address) and 4, Regents Terrace, Providence Row, Hull (War Pension address). They had four children from his wife’s first marriage. He worked as a crane driver for the North Eastern Railways.
He enlisted in Hull on 1 Sept 1914. Served with the East Yorkshire Regiment and Labour Corps. Wounded in the face & jaw. Discharged on 19 Aug 1918. Awarded the Silver War Badge (No: 441178). Died in Hull, on 17/07/1925, aged 49.
