Born Queensbury, Bradford, 1884. Son of the late Thomas Nalmforth (1838-1900) and Hannah Balmforth (1848- 1917), of 14 Sandbeds, Queensbury, Bradforn.
The Guardian of his illegitimate child was Miss Elixabeth Dearing at Cleveland Street, Hull (War Pension address). Worked as a Stone Mason. Lived at 67, Highfield Terrace Queensbury, Near Bradford (1911 Census).
Enlisted at Halifiax. Served in the Duke of Wellington’s (West Riding Regiment), 2nd/4th Bn. Wounded in the spine, at Cambrai, 21 Nov 1917. Lost the use of his legs. Paralysed and Discharged as unfit, on 12 Aprl 1918. Died at King George’s Hospital, Surrey, London, on 29 Dec 1918, aged 32. Buried in Holy Trinity Churchyard,Queensbury, Bradford.
His army effects were left to his brother, John. He also left £555 in his will to his brother, John.
