BORN HULL, 01/12/1889. SON OF GUNDER ABRAHAMSEN (1859-1916) AND MRS BERTHA LARSEN (1857-1937). SON OF A PUBLICAN. HIS PARENTS WERE BORN IN NORWAY. ONE OF FIVE CHILDREN. HE WORKED AS A TRAWLER FISHERMAN.

HE MARRIED AT ST THOMAS CHURCH, HULL, IN 1911. WIFE HARRIET GERTRUDE BUTT (1890-1960) AND CHILDREN, NORMAN AND JOYCE, LIVED AT THORSBY AVENUE, FLINTON STREET, HULL. HIS FATHER DIED ON 18/02/1916. HIS DAUGHTER JOYCE DIED IN 1918 AGED 4 YEARS OLD.

HE SERVED ON THE STEAM TRAWLER “KESTREL” WHICH WAS LOST IN A COLLISION, IN THE NORTH SEA ON 21/02/1915.

On 21/02/1915 the Hull steam trawler KESTREL (H318) sank following a collision with the s.s. HYDRA 75 miles ENE from the Spurn Lightvessel, in the North Sea.
