Married at Hull in 1912. Husband of Annie Nealle, at 162, Waterloo Street, Hull (War Pension address). He had three step sons, John, James and William Fletcher, all born in Hull. Worked as a boot Repaier before the war and lived in Thorne, near Doncaster.
He enlisted at Doncaster, on 16 August 1915, aged 32 and 10 months. Served overseas, as a Sapper in the Royal Engineers, 40th Division Signal Company. Discahrged on 14 Jul 1917. Awarded the Silver War Badge No: 214330)
Worked as a Assistant Superintendent Insurance, for the the Pearl Insurance Company after the war.
