DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 9 INCHES TALL, 161 LBS WEIGHT, 38 INCH CHEST, BLUE EYES, BROWN HAIR, WESLEYAN RELIGION. HE ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 28/08/1915. SERVED IN THE 5TH CYCLISTS AND THEN THE 8TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. POSTED TO FRANCE ON 26/07/1916. WOUNDED IN THE GROIN AND RIGHT ARM, ON 18/08/1916. DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 26/08/1916, AGED 25. HE HAD SERVED IN THE ARMY FOR 365 DAYS. UNMARRIED. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS SISTER, DORIS ALLOT, 2 WESTGATE, HORNSEA. HE IS BURIED AT ABBEVILLE COMMUNAL CEMETERY, SOMME, FRANCE.

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 31/08/1916, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH.
