Born Sigglesthorne, Yorkshire, 1895. Son of John Andrew, of 4, Welbourne Terrace, Southgate, Hornsea (1911 Census). Worked with his father as a Golf Labourer.
Enlisted in Hull. Formerly 2491, Royal Munster Fusiliers. Transferred to the 1st Machine Gun Corps (Infantry). Killed in action, on 20/03/1918, aged 23. Awarded the Croix de Guerre (Belgium) for courage.
His army effects were left to his father, John. He is buried at Minty Farm Cemetery, Belgium
His brother, George Arthur Andrew, 3rd east Yorkshire Regiment was discharged on 12th May 1916 and awarded a Silver War Badge. His younger brother, Thomas Henry Andrew also served with the East Yorkshire Regiment.
