BORN TETNEY LOCK, LINCOLN, 02/02/1892. SON OF GEORGE DUNINGTON (1856-1932) AND ELLEN ATKINSON (1855-1892). SON OF A FARM FOREMAN. HE HAD FIVE BROTHERS AND FIVE SISTERS.

HE MARRIED, AT ST MATHEWS CHURCH, ANLABY ROAD, HULL, ON 24/06/1916. HIS WIFE AGNES MARY RINGER (1881-1939) LIVED AT 23 AIRLIE STREET, HULL (THIS IS HIS WAR PENSION, HDM 08/01/1917 & CWGC ADDRESS ADDRESS).

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED WITH “A” COMPANY, 5TH NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS. HE DIED AT THE SOMME, ON 14/11/1916, AGED 24.

HIS STEP BROTHER, PTE, GEORGE DONINGTON, 25095, 2ND LINCS, WAS KILLED IN ACTION TWO DAYS LATER, ON 16/11/1916, AGED 26.

HIS SON, ALSO CALLED EDWARD ATKINSON, WAS  BORN 16/03/1917, AND  WAS KILLED IN ACTION IN 1940, DURING WW2.

His name is listed on the Bridlington Street Roll of Honour, (Hull Daily Mail 29 December 1916).
