Bailey, Percy

Born Hull 1896. Son of George & Sarah Elizabeth Bailey at this army address. He had two brothers and four sisters. Worked as an errand boy and Moulder. Described as % foot, 4 inches tall, 34.5-36.5 inch chest, 126 lbs weight, “Good” physical development.

He enlisted in Hull, on 16/11/1914, aged 19 years and 9 months. Trained as a Signaller, in Beverley and Ripon. Served in Egypt with the 13th East Yorkshire (4th Hull Pals). Arrived France on 08/03/1916. Killed at Serre, at Serre, on 13/11/1916, aged 20. Unmarried. He had served for nearly 2 years in the army. His army effects were returned to his father George. he left brothers, George and Harold, and four sisters, Olive, Edith, Marion, and Amy.
