BORN BARTON UPON HUMBER, LINCOLN, 1889. SON OF ROBERT AND JANE BARKER, OF BARTON ON HUMBER.

A REGULAR SOLDIER. HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED WITH THE 3RD COLDSTREAM GUARDS IN THE BRITISH EXPEDITIONARY FORCE. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 01/09/1914, AGED 25. HE IS BURIED AT GUARDS GRAVE, VILLERS COTTERETS FOREST, FRANCE. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL TIMES ON 07/11/1914, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. HIS NAME IS RECORDED IN THE DE RUVIGNY ROLLO F HONOUR, VOLUME 2.

HISARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS FATHER, ROBERT.
HIS BROTHER, PRIVATE, HERBERT BARKER, WHO LIVED AT CLARENDON STREET, IN HULL, SERVED WITH 16TH LANCASHIRE FUSILIERS, AND WAS KILLED AT ARRAS, ON 01/04/1918, AGED 35.
