BORN HULL 1886. SON OF GEORGE BARRETT (1858-1900) AND EMILY WHITE (1858-1917) OF 19, NORFOLK TERRACE, NORFOLK STREET, HULL. HE HAD THREE BROTHERS AND A SISTER. WORKED AS A FURNITURE PORTER. MARRIED AT SCULCOATES, HULL, IN 1907.

HIS WIFE MINNIE BARRETT AND FOUR DAUGHTERS, LIVED AT 2 NORFOLK PLACE, NORFOLK STREET, HULL (1911 CENSUS) AND 11 MAXWELL TERRACE, MORLEY STREET, HULL (CWGC ADDRESS). ONE OF HIS DAUGHTERS, WINIFRED DIED IN 1911 AGED 1.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED AS GUNNER, IN THE ROYAL FIELD ARTILLERY. DIED ON 02/12/1918, AGED 32. BURIED IN HULL. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “HE ANSWERED THE ROLL CALL IN HEAVEN”.
HIS MOTHER EMILY DIED ON 15/11/1917. HIS BROTHER, PRIVATE, ARTHUR BARRETT, 13TH EYR, WAS KILLED IN ACTION ON 08/03/1917, AGED 27. (pictured)
