BORN HULL 1890. SON OF GEORGE BARRETT (1858-1900) AND EMILY WHITE (1858-1917) OF 19, NORFOLK TERRACE, NORFOLK STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). HE HAD THREE BROTHERS AND A SISTER. HE WAS EMPLOYED BY MR JOHNSON, OF KING BENCH STREET, HULL. HIS MOTHER, WAS A WIDOW, WITH THREE SONS SERVING AND ANOTHER A PRISONER OF WAR.

ARTHUR ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED WITH THE 13TH EYR (HULL PALS). HE DIED IN ACTION, ON 08/03/1917, AGED 27. SHOT BY A GERMAN SNIPER.

HE IS BURIED IN FRANCE. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 23/03/1917. *

HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER, EMILY, WHO DIED ON 15/11/1917 AGED 59.
HIS BROTHER ALBERT BARRETT, 20519, RFA, DIED ON 02/12/1918 AGED 32, AND LIVED AT 11 MAXWELL TERRACE, STONEFERRY, HULL.
