Bartho, John Ross

BORN HULL 1869. SON OF ANTHONY & ROSAMOND BARTHO. A SEAMAN. HE JOINED THE MERCHANT NAVY, ON 09/06/1886. HE MARRIED EMILY IN HULL, IN 1894. THEY LIVED AT THIS ADDRESS AND 59 CAMDEN STREET, HULL, WITH THEIR SIX CHILDREN.

WORKED AS SHIP’S MATE ON THE STEAM TRAWLER ‘BUTE’. ACCIDENTALLY KILLED, ON 02/08/1915, AGED 45. BURIED AT SEA. THERE IS NO CWGC RECORD.

HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE HESSLE ROAD, NAVAL, MEMORIAL, HULL.
