BORN LITTLE WEIGHTON, ROWLEY, YORKSHIRE, 1892. SON OF ALFRED BARTRAM (1838-1912) AND EMILY STEPHENSON (1854-1921). SON OF A FARMER. ONE OF 3 BOYS AND 6 SISTERS. A FARMER. HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED AS GUNNER, IN THE ROYAL FIELD ARTILLERY. DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 09/12/1917, AGED 25.

LEFT £812 TO HIS SISTER, MARY HOULTON, (WIFE OF HENRY HOULTON), WHO LIVED AT LITTLE WEIGHTON, OUTSIDE BEVERLEY.

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 12/01/1918.

HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER, EMILY AND EACH OF HIS SIX SISTERS, GERTUDE, MARGARET, PAULINA (POPPY), LINDA ANN (BOBBY), MARY ELLEN HOULTON, AND EMILY M. HOYES.

HIS BROTHER, PRIVATE, JOHN HENRY BARTRAM, 10/1397, 8TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, WAS KILLED ON THE SOMME, ON 14/07/1916, AGED 28. BOTH BROTHERS ARE COMMEMORATED ON THE ROWLEY VILLAGE WW1 MEMORIAL, WHICH LISTES 15 NAMES.
