HE MARRIED AT HOLY TRINITY, HULL, ON 08/06/1908. HUSBAND OF  ELIZABETH DAVIES & FOUR CHILDREN, OF OF 3, JOSEPH TERRACE, BARNSLEY STREET, HULL (1911), 8, BRUNSWICK AVENUE, VICTOR STREET, HULL (1914), AND 10 COURTNEY STREET, HULL (1916). A WATERMAN, WELL KNOWN ON HULL DOCKS AS A BOATMAN AND HUMBER PILOT. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 2.5 INCHES TALL, 121 LBS WEIGHT, 36-39 INCH CHEST, BLUE EYES, BROWN HAIR, EAGLE TATTOO ON CHEST AND TATTOOS ON BOTH ARMS, CHURCH OF ENGLAND RELIGION.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 27/08/1914. SERVED IN THE 7TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 23/04/1917, AGED 29. COMMEMORATED ON THE ARRAS MEMORIAL.

HE WAS REPORTED MISSING BY HIS MOTHER IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 25TH MAY 1917.
