MARRIED 06/07/1913, WIFE MARY AGNES HAYHURST BENNETT, LIVED AT 1 GILBERT AVENUE, HALTENPRICE STREET, HAWTHORNE AVENUE (1915 AND 15 SHELBURN TERRACE, LANSDOWNE STREET, HULL (CWGC ADDRESS). HE WAS A REGULAR SOLDIER AND RESERVIST. EMPLOYED BY MESSRS, HARGREAVES BROTHERS, GIPSYVILLE.

HE ENLISTED AT BEVERLEY, ON  29/04/1904, AGED 19. SERVED IN INDIA AND AT HOME. BADLY WOUNDED IN THE LEFT ARM BY BULLET AND TAKEN PRISONER, ON  20/10/1914. REPATRIATED AS A PRISONER EXCHANGE, ON 17/02/1915. HIS ARM WAS SHATTERED ABOVE THE ELBOW. DISCHARGED AS UNFIT FOR FURTHER WAR SERVICE, ON 22/08/1915. DIED HULL ROYAL INFIRMARY, ON  18/03/1917, AGED 32.
