Benjafield, Frederick Arthur

Born Dorchester, Dorset, 1894. Son of Thomas James Benjafield, of 4, Colliton Street, Dorchester, Dorset. He had two brothers, Reginald James and William and one sister, Ethel May. He was a Baker.

He enlisted in Hull, on 13th Jan 1915. Served in the Royal Army Service Corps, 51st Field Bakery. He drowned whilst bathing, in Alexandria Docks, on 06/07/1915, aged 21.

He is commemorated at the Chatby War Memorial Cemetery, Egypt (CWGC Records).

His brother, William 6755, Dorset Regiment was killed in action, on 3rd December 1914.

Note: Soldiers Died records, state that he was born and lived in Holderness and that he died on 28th October 1918?
