HE ENLISTED IN HULL ON 4/09/1914 AS PTE, 12659, EYR. DISCHARGED WITH MYOPIA ON 6/02/1915. HE IS DESCRIBED AS NEARLY 5 FOOT 8 INCHES TALL, 135 LBS, BROWN EYES, BROWN HAIR, SALLOW COMPLEXTION. BIRTHMARK ON RIGHT FOREARM. OF GOOD CHARACTER. AT SOME POINT HE RE-ENLISTED IN THE SCOTTISH RIFLES. DIED AT HOME ON 17/03/1917, AGED 24. BURIED AT HEDON ROAD CEMETERY. HIS BROTHER, PRIVATE, FRANK BOARDMAN, 1/4TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, WAS KILLED AT YPRES ON 04/05/1915, AGED 21.
