Bohn, Howard Gabriel (alias Bond)

Withernsea WW1 Memorial, Queens Street. The memorial was erected in 1923 at a cost of £451, the funds for which were collected through public subscription. A service of dedication was held in 1924. Inscribed in four columns, are the names of sixty-four men killed in World War I.

Born Hull, 1894. Surname was BOHN, but served as George Harold Bond. Son of Thomas William Bohn (1855-1919) and Deborah Bohn. of 110 De Grey Street, Hull (1911 Census) and 6 Young Street, Withernsea. Employed as a shoemaker in Warminster.

Served with the 2nd Wiltshire Regiment. Killed in action, on 10/04/1917, aged 23. Buried at Warlincourt Halte British Cemetery, Saulty, France.
