BORN HULL 1884. SON OF RUTH WEBSTER (1857-1936) & MOSES BOND (1850-1897), OF BIRMINGHAM. WORKED AS A TRAVELLING BUILDING CONTRACTOR. HE LIVED AT THIS 154 SLADE ROAD, ERDINGTON (ABSENT VOTERS 1918). ENLISTED IN BIRMINGHAM. EX 19896 GLOUCESTERS. TRANSFERRED TO THE 1ST WORCESTER REGIMENT. DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 27/08/1918, AGED 34. UNMARRIED. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER, RUTH
BURIED AT TERLINCTHUN BRITISH CEMETERY, WIMILLE. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “BELOVED SON OF RUTH & THE LATE MOSES BOND BIRMINGHAM HE DIED THAT WE MIGHT LIVE”
