Born Hull, 1888. Youngest child of Samuel and Sarah Jane Borkwood, of 1 Derwent Avenue Eton Street, Hull. Son of a Boiler Maker. He had four older sisters and a brother.
Married at Hull, in 1908. Husband of Jane McWhannell, at 1, Madleley Street, Hessle Road, Hull (census and war Pension address). He lived with his wife’s family and worked as a Coal Teemer North Eastern Railway at the Town Docks.
Served in the 13th EYR (Hull Pals) in Egypt and France. Died in Hull on 16 Mar 1922, aged 34.
his only brother, Thomas William Borkwood was lost at sea, on the s/s ” Khartoum”, 26 Mar 1916, aged 32.
