BORN DRIFFIELD 1885. SON OF WILLIAM BOTT (1849-1928) & HANNAH MARIA BOTT (1848-1889), AT 43 GOULTON STREET, HULL AND 68, CARLTON STREET, HULL. HE HAD TWO BROTHERS AND ONE SISTER. LOST ON THE FISHING VESSEL ‘ST LAWRENCE’ 03/10/1914, AGED 29. REPORTED AS PART OF HULL CREWS LOST IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL 20/08/1917. HIS BROTHER, PRIVATE, GEORGE WILLIAM BOTT, 2ND ROYAL WARWICKSHIRE REGIMENT WAS KILLED AT ARRAS, ON 04/05/1917, AGED 29

On September 30th, 1914, the British steel trawler ST. LAWRENCE departed Iceland for Hull with fish and went missing with all on board. She was not heard of ever since. Believed to have struck a mine;
