Born Beverley, 1890. Known as “JACK”. Son of Esther and the late S. Botterill, of Beverley, Yorks. His father was named Snowball Botterill and had died in 1911. He worked as a farm, plough boy. Enlisted in Driffield. Ex.17601, East Yorks Regiment. His name is recorded on the Beverley WW1 Memorial and the Norwood Street Memorial, with his brother Jim, 12th EYR, who died of wounds, on 15/11/1916.
