Boyd, Maurice Bradley Parker

Only Son of William and Mary Boyd, of Hodroyd House, South Hiendley, Barnsley, South Yorks. He had two sisters. A Student. Described as 5 foot, 6 ” tall, 133 lbs weight, 33.5″ Chest. Lived at The Mount, Woolley, Near Wakefield, West Yorks

He enlisted at Hedon. Hull (East Yorks), on 02/10/1915. Formerly, 336, 1St Hull H.B., R.G.A.

Served with the 1th Hull Heavy Battery, RGA, in East Africa. Hospitalised with Dysentery and Malaria, several times and struck off strength. Invalided to South Africa, on 18/10/1916. Returned to England

Died on 16/02/1918, aged 21, at 3rd Northern Hospital, Sheffield. Kicked by horse. Fractured the back of his skull.

Buried at Saint Peter’s Churchyard, Felkirk, Wakefield, West Yorkshire, England
