Born, Lund, Beverley, 1892. Son of Bielby Boyes (1865-1949) and Lydia Boyes (1868-1929), of Lund, Beverley, Yorks. he had one brother and two sisters. A Waggoner (farm) employed at Baswick Street Brandesburton Hull (1911 Census).

He enlisted at beverley. Served in the 2nd Grenadier Guards. Killed at the Somme, on 25/09/1916, aged 26. His army effects were left to his sister Ann.

He is commemorated on the St Peters lodge, WW1 Memorial Board, Lund
