Bradley, William Dobson

Lockington Church Memorial Plaque

Born Lockington, Beverley, 1885. Son of Thomas and Mary Elizabeth Bradley, of Rectory Farm, Lockington. He had four brothers and a sister.

Worked as a Butcher’s Assistant. Described as 5 foot, 7.5″ tall, 35-37″ chest, 130 lbs weight, defective teeth

Married on 23/01/1913 at Dringhouses, Yorkshire. Husband of Mary Elizabeth Fox (1887-1967), of Lockington, Yorks. They had four sons, Eric, Thomas Cyril and Albert.

Enlisted on 23/05/1917. Served with the 8th EYR. Killed in action, on 27/09/1917, aged 32.

His army effects were left to his widow and sons, (all under 4 years age) when he was killed
