BORN LEEDS 1876. A REGULAR SOLDIER WHO ENLISTED IN THE 2ND WEST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, ON 26/11/1894. HE LIVED AT 2 ALBERT AVENUE, VAUXHALL GROVE, HESSLE ROAD, HULL. (ARMY RECORDS ADDRESS). DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 6 INCHES TALL, 126 LBS, 37 INCH CHEST, WAIST 34 INCHES, BROWN HAIR, BROWN EYES AND SCAR ON FOREHEAD. HIS SISTER, SARAH, LIVED AT 49 VAUXHALL GROVE, HULL.

HIS  SERVICE EXPIRED IN 1911.  HE WAS DISCHARGED WITH “GOOD CHARACTER”. HIS ADDRESS BEING 3 CRESCENT PLACE, WALKER STREET, HULL. HE WAS MOBILISED AS A RESERVE WHEN WAR BEGAN. SERVED WITH THE 2ND WEST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, IN THE BRITISH EXPEDITIONARY FORCE. DIED ON 05/05/1915, AGED 40. HE IS BURIED AT RENINGHELST CHURCHYARD EXTENSION, BELGIUM. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS “R.I.P.”.

HE LEFT A WIDOW MARY BRENNEN, WHO LIVED AT 19 WESLEY SQUARE, GOOLE (CWGC ADDRESS).
