BORN HULL 1897. KNOWN AS “CHARLEY” BRINHAM. SON OF ADA FRANCES JACKSON (1859-1934) & THE LATE WILLIAM HENRY BRINHAM (1863-1897), OF 13 ASHBOURNE GROVE, SPRING BANK WEST, HULL. HE HAS ONE BROTHER AND THREE SISTERS. HE WORKED WITH HIS BROTHER AT HULL’S IDEAL RADIATOR COMPANY. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 5.5 INCHES TALL, 113 LBS WEIGHT, 33-35 INCH CHEST.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 30/10/1915. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 1731 EYR. POSTED TO FRANCE, ON 22/03/1916. HE TRANSFERRED TO THE 2ND WEST RIDING REGIMENT. WOUNDED WIT SHELL CONCUSSION, ON 14/06/1917. KILLED IN ACTION ON 10/10/1917, AGED 21. HE HAD SERVED IN THE ARMY FOR 1 YEARAND 347 DAYS.

HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE TYNE COT MEMORIAL, BELGIUM.
HIS DEATH IS REPORTED IN THE HDM 10/10/1918 WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *

HIS NAME IS ONE OF 46 EMPLOYEES LISTED ON HULL’S “IDEAL BOILERS AND RADIATOR WW1 ROLL OF HONOUR”, NATIONAL AVENUE, HULL.
