BORN PRESTON, HULL 1897. YOUNGEST SON OF HENRY AND SARAH ELIZABETH BROCKLEBANK, OF “ACEY FARM ” AND “WEST END” FARM, PRESTON, HULL. HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED WITH THE 4TH LINCOLNSHIRE REGIMENT. DIED OF GUNSHOT WOUNDS, ON 28/09/1917, AGED 20.

HE HAD REMARKED TO THE NURSE THAT HE HAD A “BLIGHTY” WOUND AND WOULD BE COMING HOME. UNFORTUNATELY, IT PROVED TO BE MORE SERIOUS.

HIS NAME WAS LISTED ON ALL SAINTS WESLEYAN CHURCH MEMORIAL, PRESTON. A MEMORIAL CHURCH SERVICE WAS HELD FOR HIM
HE IS BURIED AT DOZINGHEM MILITARY CEMETERY. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “THY WILL BE DONE”.

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 12/10/1917, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *
