BORN HULL 1880. SECOND SON OF FREDRICK JOHN BROOKS,(1840-1907) AND AMY BIDWELL (1844-1917), OF 12, ROSE TERRACE, BARNSLEY STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). HIS FATHER WAS A HEDON HM PRISON WARDEN). HE HAD ONE OLDER BROTHER, FRED.

MARRIED, AT HULL, IN 1904. HIS WIFE ALICE MAUD RUSSELL LIVED AT 12 ROSE TERRACE, BARNSLEY STREET, HULL. THEY HAD SIX CHILDREN. EMPLOYED AS A DOCK LABOURER. ENLISTED HULL, 22/12/1914. ARRIVED FRANCE 23/06/1915. SERVED WITH THE 1ST EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. DISCHARGED FROM SERVICE ON 27/11/1915. DIED AT HOME, 23/04/1916, AGED 36.

BURIED HULL HEDON ROAD CEMETERY. HIS NAME IS LISTED ON THE BARNSLEY STREET MEMORIAL, AND THE MARFLEET LANE ROLL OF HONOUR.
