Born Hull 1896. Son of William Joys Bugg (1869-1923) and Henrietta Hodgson (1871-1949), of 25 Melbourne St Hull (War pension address). He lived at 161 De Grey Street, Newland Avenue, Hull (army records). He had one younger sister, Henrietta. Worked as a Telegraph Messenger.
He enlisted at Hull, 25/03/1914. Served in the1/4th East Yorkshire Regiment. Discharged with sickness, on 26/06/1915. Awarded Silver Wound Badge (No:13194).
He married Beatrice May Walford (1894-1972), at Hull, in January 1916. their daughter Phyllis May was born on 22nd May 1916.
Died 26 May 1920, aged 24.
