He married Ellen Veronica MANGAN (1884–1939, at Hull Registry Office, Parliament Street, Hull, on 10/06/1911. They had two sons during their marriage and moved to 8 Brown’s Entry, High Street, Hull, (War Pension address)
He enlisted in Hull, on 05/11/1914. Discharged as physically unfit on 01/09/1915. He died of paralysis, as a young father on 19 September 1916 in Hull, Yorkshire, at the age of 30.
