Born Hull 1884. Son of Mrs Stratford at 1, Providence Row, Walker Street, Hull (War Pension address).

Boarded at 7 Georges Grove Northumberland Avenue Hull. Was A Rullyman contractor (1911 Census).  described as 5 foot, 8.5 inches tall, 36-39 inch chest, good physical development, Church of England religion, “very Good” character.

He Enlisted in the East Riding Battery, at Hull, on 24/5/1909. Served as a Gunner, Royal Field Artillery with the Northumbrian Brigade (Coastal Command). Discharged on 19/6/16 after seven years service. Re-enlisted in the 18th Coy, Labour Corps. Discharged 0n 7/10/1919. Died 26 May 1921. His army effects went to his mother and sister at 1, Providence Row, Walker Street, Hull.
