A Professional soldier. Enlisted at Montrose, Forfarshire. Married at Cork, Ireland, 1911, aged 27. Husband of Geraldine Mary O’Halloren (1891-1982), of 4, Wharncliffe Street, Hull (war pension address).
Served as CSM, 1st Highland Light Infantry. Died of wounds, on 18/03/1915, aged 31. Commemorated on Le Touret Memorial, France.
His widow was awarded a weekly war pension, of 12 shillings, on 11/10/1915.
His brother, Private, John McLennan Campbell, 10th Black Watch died at Salonika, on 26 Jul 1917, aged 26
