BORN THORNE, YORKSHIRE, 14/05/1892. HE MARRIED ANNIE QUEST IN 1913. LEFT  A WIDOW ANNIE AT 5 ASH GROVE, LINNAEUS STREET, HULL . SON OF REBEKAH AND WILLIAM CAWKWELL, OF  4 BEATRICE TERRACE, DIVISION ROAD, HULL. HE ENLISTED IN THE ROYAL NAVAL RESERVE.

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 27/10/19. PULLED OVERBOARD IN STRONG GALE MAY 1918. HE DIED ON ACTIVE SERVICE BUT HE IS NOT LISTED IN CWGC RECORDS.
