Chambers, Charles Frederick

Born Hull, 1899. Third son of John Thomas Chambers (1863-1932) and Barbara Ann Chambers (1863-1950), of 6, Subway Street, Hessle Road, Hull. (Army address). He had three brothers and  one elder sister, Lilian. He worked as a waiter.

He served as Private, 52214, EYR was wounded by gunshot in the face. Transferred to the 1st Reserve Lancers. Awarded the Silver War Badge. Died in Hull on 06/06/1924, aged 25.

His brother Frank Chambers served as  Private, 3358, 1/4th EYR. Wounded on 15/01/1916 (gunshot wound to right arm). Transferred as Lance Corporal, 238390, 414th Agricultural Company, Labour Corps. 20% disabled. Awarded the Silver War Badge. Discharged from army on 15/03/1919, after 4 years and 56 days military service. Died at Hull, in 1924. His widow, Olive Chambers, lived at 97, Linnaeus Street, Hull (War Pension address).
