BORN HULL 1887. SON OF JAMES & JANE CHAPMAN AT THIS CWGC ADDRESS, HESSLE ROAD. PRIOR TO THE WAR HE WORJKED AS BAKER’S ASSISTANT.
HE WAS A SECOND ENGINEER ON THE FISHING TRAWLER ‘QUAIR’ WHICH WENT MISSING IN NOVEMBER 1916. HE LEFT A WIDOW AND ONE CHILD AT 3 FANNY TERRACE, REDBOURNE STREET. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 22/12/16 WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *
