BORN HULL 1899. SON OF MR & MRS ANNIE ELIZABETH CLARK, OF 1 WELTON TERRACE, WASSAND STREET, HULL (CWGC ADDRESS). BEFORE THE WAR HE WORKED FOR HORNER’S SAWMILL, MADELEY STREET, HULL AND WORKED ON THE TRAWLERS AT SEA.

HE ENLISTED AT OTLEY, YORKSHIRE. EX PRIVATE, 24832 YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED AS PRIVATE, 45958, 11TH NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS. WOUNDED ON 01/06/1917, IN FRANCE. HE DIED OF WOUNDS, AT KING GEORGE’S HOSPITAL, LONDON, ON 10/10/1917, AGED 19. HE IS BURIED AT HULL’S HEDON ROAD CEMETERY. HIS WAR PENSION WENT TO HIS MOTHER, AT THIS ADDRESS.

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 19/10/1917. *
