Clark, William Pritchard

Born Sunderland, Durham, England, 26 Sep 1871. Son of Hugh Clark (1849-1914) and Hannah Pritchard (1850-1928).

A Marine Engine Fitter.

Married Twice. Mary Ann Tinmouth (1874–1908) at Tynemouth in 1893 aged 23. They had seven daughters and a son.

Married at at Tynemouth, in 1912, aged 42. Husband of Jane Ann Caruthers Armstrong (aka Jeannie (1889-1919), of 56 Dacre Street South Shields Co Durham (CWGC address) and 62, Eton Street, Hessle Road, Hull (War Pension Address). They had five children. He was Brother-in-law of L. Spoors, of 12A, Cleadon Park, South Shields.

Served in the Royal Navy Reserve, on HMS “P26”. Ship lost at sea, on 10/04/1917. Killed by a mine explosion, of Havre. Commemorated on the Chatham Naval Memorial. Kent
