BORN HULL 16/06/1889. BAPTISED AT ST CHARLES  BORROMEO, HULL, ON 7TH JULY 1889. KNOWN AS FRANK. HE SIGNED HIS NAME IN HIS ARMY RECORDS AS ‘CLATTERBROOK’.

HE WAS THE SON OF FREDERICK CLUTTERBROOK (1853-1915) & ELLEN McNALLY (1858-1912), AT 6, NORTH COURT, CHARLOTTE STREET, HULL (1911 CENSUS). ONE OF SEVEN CHILDREN. HE WORKED AS A DOCK LABOURER.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 09/09/1914. HIS ARMY MEDICAL RECORDS, DESCRIBED HIM, AS 5 FOOT, 10.5 INCHES TALL, 159 LBS WEIGHT, 38 INCH CHEST, GREY EYES, BROWN HAIR, GOOD VISION AND GOOD PHYSIQUE.

HE WAS POSTED TO FRANCE, WITH THE 7TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, ON 15/07/1915, RECEIVED GUN SHOT WOUNDS TO THE ABDOMEN, ON 10/08/1915. DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 12/08/1915, AGED 25, AT NO:10 CASUALTY CLEARING STATION. HE HAD SERVED IN THE ARMY FOR 338 DAYS AND HAD BEEN AT THE FRONT FOR LESS THAN A MONTH. HE IS BURIED IN BELGIUM, AT LIJSSENTHOEK MILITARY CEMETERY.
HIS NAME IS LISTED ON ST CHARLES BORROMEO CHURCH WAR MEMORIAL, JARRATT STREET, HULL (HIS SURNNAME IS SPELT “CLUTTERBROOKE”).
HE LEFT BROTHERS, JOHN AND JAMES, AND THREE MARRIED SISTERS, HELEN, JULIE AND MARY.

UNMARRIED. HIS PARENTS DECEASED. HE LEFT HIS ARMY EFFECTS, TO HIS ELDEST BROTHER, JOHN WILLIAM CLUTTERBROOK, AT 15 ETHEL MARY’S TERRACE, KENT STREET, HOLDERNESS ROAD, HULL.
