BORN HULL 08/12/1894. SON OF JOHN HENRY COCKERILL (1869-1951) & MINNIE RICHMOND (1870-1933). ONE OF SIX CHILDREN. HIS FATHER WAS A WOOD SAWYER, FOR RECKITTS. HE HAD TWO BROTHERS AND THREE SISTERS.

HE SERVED IN THE ROYAL NAVY SUBMARINE, HMS “K4”. LOST AT SEA ON 31/01/1918, AGED 23. COMMEMORATED ON THE PLYMOUTH NAVAL MEMORIAL.

HE IS ALSO COMMEMORATED ON THE ST AIDENS CHURCH, WW1 MEMORIAL PLAQUE, SOUTHCOATES AVENUE, HULL.
