A SEA APPRENTICE. HE RECEIVED HIS MATES CERTIFICATE, ON 16/07/1912. SERVED IN THE ROYAL NAVAL RESERVE. LIVED IN CHARMOUTH, DORSETSHIRE. LIEUTENANT OF THE SUBMARINE HMS “E22”. LOST IN ACTION IN THE NORTH SEA, ON 25/04/1916. AGED 23.

HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE PORTSMOUTH NAVAL MEMORIAL.

HE LEFT £162 IN HIS WILL TO HIS WIDOWED MOTHER, GERTRUDE.
