Son of William and Mary Colling, of Westgate, Co. Durham. Enlisted at Hull. Joined the 17th Railway Pals. Died of wounds, on 05/07/1916, aged 20. Buried at Wimereux Cemetery, France. His grave inscription reads, “A BREATHER OF AN AMPLER DAY FOR EVER NOBLER ENDS”
