BORN HULL 1885. SON OF ELIJAH COLLINGWOOD (1851-1901) & HARRIET COLLINGWOOD (1856-1935), OF 36 BRIGHT STREET, HULL AND 14, BELLAMY STREET, HULL (CWGC ADDRESS). A FLOUR WAREHOUSEMAN. HE ALSO WORKED FOR ROBINSON’S CANNISTER WORKS.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVING WITH THE 2/5TH WEST RIDING REGIMENT. HE DIED OF WOUNDS, AT BOULOGNE HOSPITAL, ON 17/05/1917, AGED 32.

HE LEFT BROTHERS, GEORGE WILLIAM AND HARRY COLLINGWOOD. HIS DEATH WAS REPOTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 30/05/1917. *
BURIED AT BOULOGNE EASTERN CEMETERY, PAS DE CALAIS, FRANCE. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “A LIGHT FROM MY HOME TO A MANSION ABOVE FROM DEAR MOTHER”.

HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE HULL TECHNICAL COLLEGE MEMRORIAL.
