Cook, MM & Bar, Thomas Arthur

Born Hull 1898. Son of Alfred Ernest Cook (1867-1919) and Ann Harvey (b. 1867-). He had four brothers. Worked as a window cleaner. Described as 5 foot, 4 inches tall, 34-36 inch chest, 106 lbs weight, “fair” physique. Enlisted 02/03/1916. Called up on 20/03/1917, aged 18 and 5 months. Served with the 2nd Lincolnshire Regiment. Posted to France, on 20/12/1917. Awarded the Military Medal, on 05/07/1918. Wounded in action, on 30/09/1918. Awarded bar to his Military Medal, on 11/02/1919. Discharged from Liverpool Westminster Hospital. He had served in the army for 2 years and 356 days. He died on 18/12/1919, aged 20. There is no CWGC record.

His father, Private, Alfred Ernest Cook, 11/796, EYR died of war related injuries on 18/12/1919, aged 52. His army effects and Military Medal were left to his Aunt, Mrs Frances Harvey at 18 New Buildings, Great Thornton Street, Hull (Pension Ledger Address)
