BORN HULL 1893. SCULCOATES. SON OF JOHN AND EMMA COOK. HIS MOTHER MARRIED HENRY SUTTON DUNKIN, AND THEY LIVED AT 7, FERN GARDENS, ST PAULS STREET, HULL (CWGC ADDRESS). HE WAS A HULL & BARNSLEY RAILWAY PORTER.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. ARRIVED IN FRANCE, ON 20/04/1915. SERVED AS A CORPORAL, IN THE ROYAL FIELD ARTILLERY. WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 27/09/1918, AGED 25. BURIED .

UNMARRIED HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER EMMA DUNKIN, AND HIS THREE MARRIED SISTERS, MRS HANNAH M. BOOTH, MRS EMILY NEEDHAM, AND MRS EDITH E COOK. HIS OTHER SIBLINGS WERE ANNIE COOK, JOHN THOMAS COOK AND FRANK COOK.
HE IS BURIED AT ECOUST-ST. MEIN BRITISH CEMETERY, FRANCE. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “LOVED, HONOURED AND REMEMBERED”.
