BORN HULL 1894. SON OF HENRY COOPER (1853-1953) & ELIZABETH BURROWS (1854-1918), AT 2 TEMPERANCE TERRACE, WHEELER STREET, HULL (CWGC ADDRESS).

ONE OF EIGHT CHILDREN. THE FAMILY ALSO LIVED AT 56 GILLETT STREET, HULL (1911 CENSUS). HE WAS A REFINER/COLLECTOR, FOR THE HULL CORPORATION.

HE ENLISTED IN THE HULL PALS. SERVED AS 3693 EYR. TRANSFERRED TO THE 1/4TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. SEREVED IN FRANCE, FROM 18/11/1915. DIED A PRISONER OF WAR, IN GERMANY, ON 05/11/1918, AGED 24. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER ELIZABETH. HE IS BURIED AT COLOGNE SOUTHERN CEMETERY, GERMANY. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “BEYOND RECALL BUT EVER IN THOUGHT”.
