BORN HULL 1886. SON OF RICHARD & ELIZABETH CRAYTON, OF 4 QUEENS ROAD AND 40 SHARP STREET. HULL. THIS WAS HIS ARMY ADDRESS. A GROCERS CLERK. HE ENLISTED IN THE HULL PALS, ON 27/01/1915, AGED 29. SERVED WITH THE 10TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT (HULL COMMERCIALS). POSTED TO EGYPT ON 29/12/1915. TRANSFERRED TO FRANCE, ON 08/03/1916. RETURNED HOME, ON 17/09/1916. DISCHARGED WITH TUBERCULOSIS, ON 16/04/1917. HE DIED OF  PHITIHIS, ON 11/03/1918, AGED 33. BURIED IN HULL NORTHERN CEMETERY. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “AT REST”.
HIS PARENTS MOVED TO NOTTINGHAM. MISS LOUISE BRIDGETT WAS THE GUARDIAM OF HIS CHILD AT 17 HUNTINGTON STREET, NOTTINGHAM (WAR PENSION RECORDS)
