He enlisted in Hull. Served with the 1/4th EYR. Posted to France, on 17/04/1915. Killed at Ypres, on 29/04/1915. He is commemorated on the Ypres Menin Gate Memorial, Belgium.
His widow, Lily, married and became Mrs Sigsworth. Her war pension was then refused.
